Katy Watson grew up in North Wales in a family of folk singers, story tellers and murder mystery addicts. An avid reader and notebook collector who spent her teenage years reading paperback Christies, perhaps it was inevitable that one day she’d try writing her own crime novel. 

After studying English Literature – with a side-line in crime fiction – at Lancaster University, she set about teaching herself to write her own stories, while also experiencing enough of the world to have things to write about.

It took her eight years of writing professionally – and over forty-five non-murderous books for children, teens and adults – to write her first murder mystery, The Three Dahlias, but now she’s hooked!
